The lone occupant in a single vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon was airlifted to the Johnson City Medical Center.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports 46 year old Marcus Strong of Tennessee (address redacted), was injured in the 4:28 pm crash on Rheatown Road near the Snapps Ferry Road intersection.
According to the report, the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Strong drove off the right side of the roadway after exiting a curve. The vehicle then crossed Rheatown Road and went into a ditch causing the vehicle to go airborne and strike a utility pole. The vehicle then flipped over and came to rest on its top, trapping the driver inside until emergency personnel arrived. He was flown by Highlands Air Rescue to the Medical Center. The extent of his injuries was not listed on the report.
