A suspect has been identified and arrested in connection with a Saturday road rage incident on I-81 in which a gun allegedly brandished and a shot fired.
Aaron L. Foster was taken into custody on charges of Felony Reckless Endangerment and two counts of Aggravated Assault. The THP says that Foster was identified as the individual seen in photographs and video of incident. The THP says that after consulting with the District Attorney’s office, formal charges were placed against Foster on Monday. He was taken to the Greene County Detention Center where he was being held on $30,000 bond.
The Mosheim Police Department issued a press release stating Foster was a former Mosheim Auxiliary Police Officer and his employment was separated on January 16th, 2024. Mosheim Chief Dustin Jeffers said Foster resigned from the department.
Authorities were notified Sunday of the incident that happened near Exit 23. The Tennessee Highway Patrol released a video of the incident which appeared to show a man give an obscene gesture towards another vehicle. As the car leaves the interstate, authorities believe the suspect brandished a gun and fired a shot. The THP released a description of the suspect, and later in the evening said that he had been identified, but no arrest was made at that time.
