An investigation by detectives with the Greeneville Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, has resulted in an indictment in connection with the death of 20 year-old Caitlin Crum.
On November 7, 2021, the Greeneville Police Department responded to an abandoned home in the 200 block of West Barton Ridge Road. Upon arrival, Caitlin Crum was found deceased inside. Crum’s cause of death was determined to be an overdose caused by fentanyl and methamphetamine intoxication. During the investigation, authorities identified 31 year-old Preston Romez Moore as being with the victim at the time of her death. Further investigation revealed that Moore failed to report her death and left her body in the vacant home.
On Monday, the Greene County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Moore with Abuse of a Corpse, Tampering with Evidence, and Failure to Report a Death. Yesterday afternoon, Moore was located and arrested in Knoxville. He will be transported to the Greene County Jail and booked on a $70,000 bond.
