The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development reported today that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for October was 3.5 percent, up slightly from 3.4 percent in September.
Tennessee employers created 5,800 new nonfarm jobs across the state in October, while 123,200 new jobs were created during the past year.
Despite the slight uptick in October’s rate, the state has had unemployment rates at or below 3.5 percent since January.
County unemployment rates will be released next week.
