By a vote of 15 to 6 on the first of two readings, the Greene County Commission voted last night to abolish County Constable positions.

Commissioner Lloyd “Hoot” Bowers, as did several who spoke prior to the vote, argued the vote was not against one person per se, but instead against the position.
