A man who was allegedly banging on doors asking for help this morning was arrested for resisting and public intoxication after a K9 was utilized to track him down.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 100 block of Warrensburg Road due to a complaint from a resident who said the suspect, Jessie D. Wilhoit of Greeneville, knocked on the door around midnight and was screaming for help. According to the report, Wilhoit went to multiple houses in the area where he also knocked on doors and screamed for help. No details were provided regarding what the suspect needed help for.
Wilhoit was reportedly gone when deputies arrived but K9 Diesel was requested to the scene and tracked him down near a home on the 800 block of Hartman Lane. When he saw deputies he allegedly started banging on the door screaming for help again. He was ordered to get on the ground but allegedly refused to put his hands behind his back, so a deputy had to assist with the arrest.
According to a deputy, Wilhoit was not making sense and was talking out of his head. He was charged for resisting stop frisk, halt, arrest, or search in addition to public intoxication.
