In addition to comments from GEA President and CEO Dwayne Wells, other items discussed Monday:
- The Greene County Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting this Thursday, October 9th at Noon at Harvest. Circuit Court Clerk Whitney Collins will be the keynote speaker and election of officers for the next two years will be conducted.
- The American First Federated Women will meet on Monday, October 13th at the VFW Post Home on Harlan Street. The meal will be served at 5 and the meeting is at 5:30. E.J. Swatsell, the Director of Spiritual Life and Special Projects at Tusculum University, will be the guest speaker.
- The next meeting of the Greene County Republican Party will be November 3rd at 6 pm at the party headquarters on Snapps Ferry Road across from Food City. Greene County historian Tim Massey will be the guest speaker.
- Mayor Kevin Morrison announced the Greene County Building and Zoning finished day one at its new location in the Greene County Administration Center without a hitch. Plans remain for the County Clerk’s office to be closed at the Annex October 16-18 and reopen at the new location on October 20th.
- The first meeting of the County Commission at the new site will also be on Monday, October 20th in the Nathaniel Greene Assembly Hall inside the renovated Takoma hospital building.
In addition to Morrison, other elected officials at the meeting Monday were State Representative David Hawk, County Commissioners Paul Burkey and Jan Kiker, State Committee Woman Nancy Wilson and County Clerk Lori Bryant.
