TVA reports the average system temperature last Wednesday, June 25 of 96 degrees was the hottest day during the short heat wave.
TVA Media Senior Specialist Adam May says the 96 degrees, was the same as June 25 a year ago, but TVA reports the agency saw an approximate 500-megawatt increase in demand. That TVA says, reflects population growth, economic expansion, and the integration of new electricity-dependent technologies.
