A car was destroyed by fire but all four occupants were able to escape the vehicle uninjured Tuesday afternoon on I-81 in Greene County at the 17.8 mile marker.
According to the report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, an explosion was heard and the driver, Lisa Clark of Tennessee pulled to the shoulder and stopped. She and three passengers exited the vehicle which then became engulfed in flames and was destroyed.
South bound traffic was disrupted following the 9:35 am incident.
