State Representative David Hawk says he will be seeking election in 2026.
The reference was no doubt about Marsha Blackburn, who is expected to but has yet to officially announce her plans for a gubernatorial run.
Hawk made the announcement during comments to the Greene County Republican Party during their May meeting at the Headquarters on Snapps Ferry Road where he was guest speaker.
Hawk is in the middle of his 12th term in office, having been first elected in 2002.
He is the current longest serving Republican in the State House of Representatives.
Hawk discussed the recently recessed legislative session with those in attendance last night.
We will have more on those comments in later newscasts.
