The 7th Annual Royal Tea will be at the General Morgan Inn on Sunday, April 6, 2025. The event is a fundraiser for GreeneLEAF, the Greene County School’s foundation.
This event is an opportunity for girls and boys to dress up as royalty while experiencing a magical afternoon while raising funds for the Magic Book Bus program and other literacy programs in our school system. The tea is from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and is open to the public.
The children that attend will be entertained by some very special princesses in a magical fairy tale setting. Tea and lunch will be served. Following lunch and a Princess Parade led by some special story time guests, attendees can listen to live music, makes crafts, participate in games, get their face painted, and take a photo with Prince Charming.
Greene LEAF hosts the royal tea each year. Greene Leaf is a non-profit organization founded by community leaders to bridge the gap of funding for materials and programming not supplied by local government.
Suzanne Richey, executive director of Greene LEAF says “This is the major fundraiser for the Foundation, and we can’t wait to bring back our mini princes and princesses for a grand time.”
Community volunteers and educators from the county school system will be participating by decorating tables and helping to support the event. The theme is literacy and each table will be decorated differently with a themed children’s book.
Some of the featured books are “Tiddler the Storytelling Fish,” “Where the Wild Things Are,” “The Giving Tree,” “Luna and Her Green Pet,” “Jumanji,” “Fancy Nancy,” “The Princess and the Pea” and many more.
Attendees will have the option of selecting a table themed to one of 18 favorite storybooks. The doors will open at 1:30 PM and at that time royal attendees may select the table of their choice.
Every child attending the event will also receive a book to take home.
While this event is open to everyone, there are a limited amount of tickets. Tickets bought in advance are $40 for children and $45 for adults if purchased by March 26, 2025. Tickets purchased after then will be $50 for adults and children.
