A Wind Advisory will be in effect for Southeast Greene County from 11 AM today until 8 am Thursday. Winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 55 mph will be possible in the mountains and foothills.

A Red Flag Warning will be in effect from noon today until 11 pm due to gusty winds and low humidity for the mountains of East Tennessee and adjacent foothills. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or are expected to occur.

According to the National Weather Service, an Elevated Fire Danger is expected for all of Greene County today. The lower elevations will have winds of 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Relative humidity levels will be below 25 percent.

Refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you may burn outdoors.
