The Walters State Division of Workforce Development will offer parenting and divorce, welding and Microsoft Excel level 1 classes during January.
• Parenting and Divorce, 5:30-9:30 p.m., Jan. 10 or Jan. 23, $60.
The college offers the state-mandated parenting and divorce class for divorcing parents. This class teaches key communication skills that will lead to smooth co-parenting during and after the divorce. This class will make a divorce less traumatizing for all family members, especially children. This class is offered over the Zoom videoconferencing platform.
• Welding Level 1 (Stick Welding), Tuesdays, Jan. 16-Feb. 12, 4-8 p.m., $379.
The course introduces students to the Metal Arch Welding process, which is widely used in construction, manufacturing and maintenance courses. Skills developed using this process can be applied to other welding processes. This self-paced class emphasis basic skills used in stick welding and process variables. This class is offered at the Walters State Workforce Training Building in Greeneville.
• Microsoft Excel Level 1, Jan. 25, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., $150.
