Greeneville Fire Chief Alan Shipley said today the fire Tuesday at the old Takoma Hospital on Asheville Highway, which will soon be the Greene County Government Offices building, was apparently the result of demolition material coming in contact with an existing heater on the 4th floor.
Greeneville Fire Department responded to the call and then helped ventilate the eastern part of the fourth floor that was affected.
Renovation work continues at the building today, the future site of the Greene County Government Offices, including the Greene County School System, which will be on the fourth floor.
