The National Weather Service has now issued a WINTER STORM WATCH in effect from 7:00 AM Sunday morning through 7:00 AM Monday morning.
Heavy snow is possible in southeast Greene County and the Smoky Mountains. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches possible, with 6 to 8 inches possible in the higher elevations of the Smoky Mountains. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph as well.
Plan on slippery road conditions. Hazardous conditions could also impact the Monday morning commute.
A Watch signifies that severe weather is possible, but not definite. Conditions are favorable for the event to occur, but the exact timing is still uncertain.
