An Afton man was booked Tuesday on warrants for attempted murder, burglary and robbery for his involvement in a shooting that occurred earlier this month.
39-year-old William Justin Smith of Green Ridge Road was arrested Tuesday afternoon after warrants were issued against him on Monday. According to court records, Smith is charged with attempted first degree murder, especially aggravated burglary, especially aggravated robbery and theft.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of October 11 at a residence along Old Stage Road, when a home invasion left a woman with gunshot wounds. Two other suspects were arrested several days after the shooting, with another man still being sought in connection with the incident.
