The Greene County Schools Family Resource Center will be distributing food, drinks, diapers, cleaning and personal hygiene supplies on Friday.
Greene County Director of Schools David McLain said that the distribution will also continue next week during fall break. Next week, the distributions will be held on Tuesday, October 8, and Thursday, October 10. The hours will be from 10 AM until 2 PM, or while supplies last. The two locations are at Greenwood Methodist Church on Sam Doak Road and Cedar Grove Christian Church on Chuckey Pike. You can stay in your car and supplies will be brought to you.
Hot meals from a food truck will also be offered at Greenwood Methodist Church for everyone in each family. The food truck will be set up at 10 AM at the church and will give out 2,000 hot meals. You will need to write down the following information and bring it with you: your name, address, phone number, your children’s names and schools, and if you have been affected by the floods. You can also say what other assistance you need.
Employees of the Greene County School system who have been affected by the flood are asked to call or text 423-930-0454 for possible assistance.
