A man from Lebanon was found undressed in a yard in Chuckey and was arrested Tuesday after allegedly vandalizing a residence.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a home on the 200 block of Charles Johnson Road around 1 PM on the report of damage and vandalism. They found 43-year-old Joshua Carpenter. He allegedly had no clothes on and was sitting in the front yard. Deputies stated Carpenter refused commands to lay on his stomach and kept saying he was God.
Deputy Caron and K9 Koa were brought on the scene when Carpenter reportedly started complying. When he was taken into custody, he allegedly pushed back and kicked the side of the deputy’s cruiser. The deputy said there was no damage inflicted due to there already being a dent from a previous incident.
During a search of the home, deputies found blood splatter on the windows and around the property. According to the report, the gutters were ripped off the house, several windows were broken, and there was a broken porch swing.
Because of a laceration on the suspect’s hand, he was transported to the hospital for stitches. Carpenter was charged with burglary, felony vandalism, public intoxication, and resisting arrest.
