A Greeneville man was arrested Wednesday afternoon during a welfare check after police saw him yelling out the window of his vehicle. The man reportedly fell asleep during the traffic stop.
Officers were on the 900 block of Tusculum Boulevard patrolling and spotted the male yelling at a vehicle in front of him. They stopped the driver and identified him as Caleb Lister. Lister reportedly had a large blood spot on his face. He stated the blood was from work but then said it was because the car in front of him was brake-checking him, and he hit his face on the visor.
While officers were checking Lister’s information, he reportedly fell asleep. He allegedly had glassy eyes and told the officer he was drinking the night before. Several small empty shot bottles were in the car near the driver’s seat. A gram of marijuana was also located in a cigarette pack.
He was taken to the hospital for a blood draw and charged with driving under the influence, drug violations, and driving with a suspended license.
