Heavy rains from two storm systems this morning didn’t cause much damage, despite dropping heavy rains in a very short time.
EMA Director Heather Sipe said that over 1 1/4″ of rain was recorded this morning in Greeneville. Sipe said there were not significant reports of any damage, other than some minor debris along roadways. Sipe said that Richland Creek that runs through downtown and carries the storm water runoff was pretty full at times.
Roberts Furniture in the Towne Square Shopping Center had some flooding damage in the lower level of their store, resulting in that store closing for the day.
