- The Greeneville City Council will have a fairly short meeting this afternoon with their agenda including the Consideration to accept and approve a licensing agreement with the Tennessee Department of transportation (TDOT).
The five-page long agreement was for the Greeneville Fire Station 3, located on 1325 East Andrew Johnson Highway. It is known as the TDOT right of way, which runs through the fire stations parking lot and side yard. According to Fire Chief Alan Shipley, the agreement is for the use and maintenance of the parking area and property where the sign for the fire station is located.
The town of Greeneville is the Licensee and would install and operate a parking area and sign for the Greeneville Fire Department. Costs of any maintenance shall be at the expense of the town. There is also a quitclaim deed for the same property, which is to be considered for acceptance and approval.
The council will also consider an ordinance on the second and final reading of nine parcels of land, located along Pearl Street, West Irish Street, and Henry Street. Planning Director Randy Davenport explained these are some of the many properties that were zoned incorrectly in the past. The parcels current zoning is M-2 and the request is to rezone them to R-3.
The meeting will be held at 4 PM today in the G. Thomas Love Boardroom at the Greeneville Energy Authority Building, located on 110 North College Street.
