A counterfeit bill was discovered after a man tried to pass it at Burger King Friday night.
Police spoke with an employee at Burger King around 8:30 Friday evening, who stated a customer had tried to pay with a $100. After informing the male that the bill was fake, he paid with a credit card and left.
Before officers could trace the owner by his license plate, the man contacted dispatch, requesting to speak with an officer. Police spoke with the man, who said he cuts grass for a living and gets paid with cash. According to the report, the man stated he did not know from where he had received the fake bill.
The counterfeit bill was placed into evidence, and the investigation is continuing.
