A House Road woman reported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Monday her social security number was fraudulently used by someone to procure employment.
The victim received a letter from the Disability Office last week informing her that her social security number had been used to gain employment. The office said she had a limited number of days to respond or her disability would be canceled.
The victim went to the Social Security Administration and was told the individual who used her social security number had applied for a job under the first name “Giraldo.”
The victim filed fraud paperwork with the Social Security office and also decided to file a police report on the incident. No further information was provided on the suspect.
