So last week we found out the Fatz Café location was bought by a developer and is going to be turned into the Hometown Market Place, which a lot of residents believe will be a good addition to Greeneville. But this week we found out that the old Tractor Supply on the Andrew Johnson Highway could be a cancer treatment facility.
Planning Director Randy Davenport gave the Greeneville Municipal Planning Commission an update on current and pending projects, which included building plans for the facility. The building has been empty since Tractor Supply moved their location to the Greeneville Commons, which officially opened in March of 2023.
The facility would include chemotherapy for patients as well as other forms of treatment for cancer. Davenport said the developers are planning on using the rear side of the building for the facility and the front entrance will remain the same but will be used for another purpose. He said the front portion could potentially be another store front for a separate business.
Building plans, which have not been approved yet by the municipal planning commission, include the addition of parking and landscaping.
