Police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of East Andrew Johnson Highway, around 3:30 AM Friday.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the driver, and also with a passenger in the car. The passenger, Alexis Morgan of Afton, showed to have an active warrant for Violation of Probation, 3rd offense.
Due to the nature of the call, officers requested a K9 from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department to come to the scene. The K9 officer showed a positive alert to the passenger side of the vehicle. Upon searching a backpack, officers located several needles, spoons, empty baggies and glass pipes. Also found was a half-a-gram of what was believed to be Meth, and half-a-gram of suspected heroin in aluminum foil.
Morgan claimed all of the drugs and paraphernalia were hers. She was taken in for the warrant arrest, and also charged with Schedule I Drug Violation; Simple Possession/Casual Exchange of Methamphetamine; and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia.
