At around 1 AM Sunday morning officers initiated a traffic stop on a truck with no lights at East Vann Road.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Davey Beebe, was searched after a K-9 dispatched to the area almost immediately gave a positive alert for drugs on both sides of the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and a glass bottle with residue, and a magnetic box containing marijuana and rolling papers were found.
Additionally, a box containing marijuana and rolling papers was found. The magnetic box had the writing “Davey hands off” on the lid. Beebe admitted that the box and its contents belonged to him.
He stated that he had switched tags on the truck and he had no
insurance. A records check also showed that Beebe had a current status of suspended on his driver’s license.
Officers then discovered that the passenger Tonya Wilson was reportedly concealing something in her mouth. After alleged coaxing, a purple item identified as a bag with 1.4 grams of methamphetamine was removed from her mouth.
A glass bottle with residue was also found in Wilson’s handbag.
Wilson was charged with tampering with evidence, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and felony possession of methamphetamine.
Beebe light law violation, registration violation, financial
responsibility, driving on a suspended license, schedule VI drug violations, and unlawful drug paraphernalia.
Both suspects were transported to the Greene County detention center without further incident.
