An excavator caught fire at a property in Midway on Tuesday afternoon
A deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to 60 Hawkins Way around 4:30 PM. The victim said that his crew has been working to clear a field. While clearing the land, they believe a hydraulic hose came loose and caused the excavator to catch fire.
The Orebank Volunteer Fire Department responded to assist with the fire.
The cab of the excavator was destroyed by the fire. The equipment was valued at $45,000.
