The Greene County Commission will meet tonight and consider depositing the Opioid settlement funds from the Greene County Vs. Johnson and Johnson Lawsuit into the counties general fund.
A settlement was reached in this lawsuit with McKesson Corporation, Cardinal Health, Inc. AmeriSource Bergen Corporation, or Johnson and Johnson or affiliates. The court has approved the settlement agreement with 35% being disbursed between counties that joined and over $333,000 being awarded to Greene County.
The commission will also have a public hearing regarding a resolution to rezone 2.2 acres of a property that would be used as a clothing store and storage warehouse as well as hear from
Lori Grabner, with the Greeneville Greene County Coalition.
There will be a consideration to authorize the Greeneville/Greene County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security to transfer and sell surplus property to the Greene County Solid Waste Department for the sum of $12,000.
Additionally, there will be a resolution to set the speed limit on Davy Crockett Park Road (First reading). The commission will meet at 6:00 PM tonight in the Criminal Courtroom at the County Courthouse.
