Early voting began last Friday for the August Greeneville Municipal Election and will run through Saturday, July 29.
On Friday there were 38 votes with 3 more on Saturday. Ballots received prior to July 14th brought in 24 votes, making the total votes 65 as of this weekend. This year’s election is only for those who reside within Greeneville’s 1st ward. The only race on the ballot is for 1st ward council member, with Ginny Kidwell, Kristin Girton and Tim Ward running.
This will be the last odd-year election for the Greeneville City Council. The two candidates who receive the most votes in this year’s election will serve a 3-year term in order to realign with even-year elections in 2026.
Hours for early voting at the Greene County Election Commission Office on CCU Boulevard will be 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM Monday through Friday and Saturday from 8:30 AM until noon. The Greeneville Municipal Election will be held on Thursday, August 3.
