Motorists traveling on I-640 in Knox County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will have an impact on traffic.
Beginning at 10 p.m. tonight, March 10, the ramp from I-40 East to I-640 West will be closed intermittently to allow for the installation of traffic control for rubblization activities between the Rutledge Pike bridge and the McIntyre Road bridge. One lane will also be closed on I-640 West between the I-40 interchange and the Millertown Pike exit (MM 8). All work is expected to be complete by 6 a.m. on Monday, March 13.
This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.
