A Greeneville woman was arrested Thursday afternoon on drug and weapon charges.
A deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department stopped a Chevrolet Trail Blazer at the Jonesbridge Road and Riverbluff Circle intersection for expired registration around 4:15 PM.
Melissa Tweed of Cosley Lane was identified as the driver. The SUV was towed due to Tweed not having proof of ownership or insurance on the car.
A firearm, eight baggies of a substance identified as meth, five syringes, and three spoons were found during an inventory for the tow. Tweed admitted ownership of the items, but said she forgot they were in the vehicle.
Tweed was charged with unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon, simple possession of a schedule 2 drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
