The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development reported this afternoon that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for December was 3.5 percent, unchanged from the November rate.
The state rate a year ago was 3.6 percent. During the past year, nonfarm jobs increased by 104,800.
During the entire year of 2022, the statewide unemployment rate reached a low of 3.2 percent and never went above 3.5 percent.
The national unemployment rate for December was 3.5 percent, down slightly from 3.6 percent in November.
County unemployment data will be released next week.
