A man was arrested yesterday afternoon after he was seen leaving a known drug house on Chestnut Ridge/Middlecreek Road and got into an accident after trying to flee from the deputy.
Due to suspicious activity at the home around 4 PM yesterday, a deputy from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department drove passed the house and noticed a male in a red sedan backing out of the driveway. The deputy attempted to turn his vehicle around and the red sedan was already driving away at a high rate of speed.
According to the report the deputy tried to catch up with the vehicle when he noticed a large amount of smoke near the curve. The vehicle wrecked as it was speeding away from the deputy on the side of the road. The suspect, identified as Andrew Gibson, was exiting the vehicle as the deputy approached with blood dripping from his head and hand. He immediately put his hands in the air. EMS was called to the scene for his injuries.
A summons was taken out for financial responsibility, reckless driving, and seatbelt law. A warrant was also taken out for driving on suspended/revoked license.
