A man was arrested after an officer responded to a call about two males stealing scrap metal from Tractor Supply and one giving the officer a fake name.
According to the report about 6:30 yesterday evening, Officer Matthew Stanley with the Greeneville Police Department, arrived at 1665 East Andrew Johnson Highway and saw two males loading metal onto a trailer. When questioned by Officer Stanley, one of the males stated his name was Allen Saylors multiple times and said he only had Florida identification.
The officer was not able to locate anyone with that information and the suspect eventually admitted his name was actually Jonah Hensley. Hensley was asked by Officer Stanley if he gave a fake name due to having an active warrant, to which Hensley replied, he was not aware of any warrant.
A records check showed that in fact, there was no warrant in his name, but he was arrested for criminal impersonation.
