Shoplifting was reported at the Dollar General in Afton, located on 7921 Kingsport Highway Friday morning.
The manager told the Greene County Sheriff’s Department she witnessed the suspect stealing, through the store’s camera, and placing items in their jacket while walking down aisles. The suspect attempted to leave the store when the manager approached and asked him to unzip his jacket. According to the report, he quickly became belligerent and began screaming for quite some time.
The suspect left the store and entered multiple times to curse at the employees and then started following the manager to her office making physical assault threats. Deputies confirmed through camera footage the suspect was acting suspicious, but were not able to confirm the theft. A photo was taken from the footage and there is a possible suspect, but deputies were not able to locate the suspect at the attempted addresses.
