This year The Shop With A Cop Program will be doing one of their fundraisers at the Walmart in Greeneville tomorrow from 10-2 PM.
Officers and volunteers will be at each entrance of the Walmart, taking donations. Donations help provide Christmas presents to disadvantaged children. The children are partnered with members of local law enforcement agencies, who escort them as they shop and are referred to the program by the schools.
The program suffered a devasting loss in the sudden death of the program’s Founder Stewart Kilgore. Stewart’s wife Jean, who has been organizing the program for many years and will carry on his legacy by keeping the program active with the support of many volunteers.
Donations can also be made on the GoFundMe Shop With A Cop Greene County Law Enforcement Association (GCLEA) site, or you can make a check out to GCLEA and mail it to Jean Kilgore at 1560 Bill Jones Road, Afton, TN 37616.
