Deputies from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to Jones Road in Greeneville, after the purchase of a property agreement took a bad turn.
The victim said he agreed to buy the 1/2 acre property on 549 Jones Road for $50,000, from two people who told him they would sell the property for the land owner. A contract for the deed was written and notarized July 26th of last year. The victim has paid $47,000 in cash since last year, and has not had any contact with either person since July 2022. The land owner was told by the two individuals that they would sell the land and pay him, but he has only received $3,000 in payments.
All contact with the victim has stopped; he was told the deal is off, and no money has been returned to him.
