The Greeneville Board of Mayor & Aldermen approved at their meeting on Tuesday a resolution regarding American Rescue Plan Act money.
The resolution was for the Town of Greeneville to accept, administer, and amend the appropriation from the American Rescue Plan Act in the amount of around $4.4 million.
The money is planned to be used toward the construction of a new fire station, broadband internet access, and purchase of the Greeneville Light & Power building.
The Board also approved the purchase of a dump truck for Greeneville Public Works. The cost of the truck was around $92,000.
In addition, Greeneville Planning Director Randy Davenport announced that Planet Fitness is coming to Greeneville and will be located on Highway 11-E near Baileyton Road.
The Greeneville Board of Mayor & Aldermen will next meet on Tuesday, April 5.
