A woman was arrested for driving on a suspended/revoked license on Wednesday night after reportedly hitting a residence on the 900 block of Apple Street.
According to the report, the Greeneville Police Department was investigating a hit and run and identified the driver as suspect Kira L. Burgess of Greeneville. The suspect’s vehicle allegedly hit a small tree, a birdbath, and then the house.
She was located near the McDonalds on the Asheville Highway and told officers she was reversing and her breaks stopped working. Burgess said she panicked and drove away after her vehicle hit the residence. Her license was confirmed to be revoked due to Driving Under the Influence.
She was arrested and taken to the Greene County Detention Center. No injuries were reported.
