Work on the 11E bridge over Snapps Ferry Road is likely to take longer than anticipated.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation began repair work on the bridge in January leading the the closer of on lane on each side of the bridge. The closure has led to traffic delays in the area for the past few months.
Additionally, the on ramp from Snapps Ferry to Southbound 11E has been closed during the repair process.
While repairs on the bridge deck were expected to be completed by the end of April, a TDOT representative said recently that work on the deck is expected to extend into May.
The “contract completion date” for the entire repair project, not just the deck, is set for June 15. The TDOT representative said that the department would send out further information if the date was extended by June 15.
