Shirley Faye Wright, 85, of the McDonald community, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, at her home.
Survivors include two daughters, Lorri (Shane) Carter and Connie (Ronnie) McKinney; four grandchildren, Hayley (Justin) Kerley, Lindsay (Michael) Carter, Lacey (Zach) Williams and Chelsey (Mannix) Jones; 10 great-grandchildren who brought her much joy, Hadleigh, Harper and Haizley Carter, Samuel and Hannah Kerley, Ellaree and Ezra Jones, and Bowman, Emmett and Mabry Williams; sister, Reva (Bobby) Kirk; brother, Tom Parker; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Mae West Parker; husband, Bobby Wright; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis (Gene) Carter and Margaret (Don) Moore; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed Parker, Donald (Ella Mae) Parker and Wanda Parker; and three infant siblings.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home, with the funeral service to follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Jesse Bible will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Carter, Justin Kerley, Mannix Jones, Zach Williams, Tony Kirk, David Kirk, Tim Newton and Colbe Newton.
Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
