Jewell Christina Gosnell, 79, of Greeneville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at her home.
She enjoyed witnessing, teaching people about the Bible, traveling and finding new restaurants. Mrs. Gosnell was a zealous pioneer who cared about everyone she met. She cherished her family dearly. Even through many conflicts and illnesses, she stayed strong in her faith. Mrs. Gosnell played the role of mother to several of her siblings.
She was a Jehovah’s Witness by faith.
Survivors include two granddaughters, McKinsey Bell Wykle and Maliya Jazzlin Lucas; two sisters, Veronica (Jim) Ellison and Elaine (Darrell) Shanks; five brothers, Tim (Jo Edna) Tweed, Eddy (Sherry) Tweed, Freddy Tweed, Teddy (Jimmie) and Rodney (Elaine) Tweed; special nieces and nephews, Kristina Voiles, Jaden Scruggs, Taylor Voiles, Mila Hamler and Austin Sams; and a special cousin, Sammy Tino.
She was preceded in death by her son, Deland Gosnell; her son’s father, Jim Gosnell; her parents, Ted and Ruby Davis Tweed; and her sister, Rosa Jacqueline Tweed.
The family would like to thank her two special caregivers, Karen Travis and Tiffany Hawkins.
The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow visitation at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Tommy Bruce officiating. Friends and family are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, to go in procession to GreeneLawn Memory Gardens for the 10 a.m. committal service.
Active pallbearers will be Kristina Voiles, Taylor Voiles, Julianna Cozzi, Suzette Flores, Myrissa Flores, Harley Laws, Joann Sams and Jessica Allen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mila Hamler and Ruby Flores.
Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
