JONESBOROUGH – Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Chuckey man Wednesday, and charged him with Identity Theft/Impersonation, Theft and Possession of Stolen Property Over $10,000.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, Deputies responded to the 100 block of Bill Martin Road in Chuckey to do a premises check at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. They were searching for 52 year old Joshua Edward York in connection to three outstanding warrants: Criminal Impersonation, Failure to Pay Child Support and Failure to Appear.
Deputies located York inside a camper on the property. He provided the identity of his brother, and after Deputies informed him providing someone else’s identity was a felony, he gave them his brother’s social security number. He was then taken into custody.
While on the property, Deputies ran the information for the camper in which he was staying. The camper came back as reported stolen in Carter County.
Deputies transported York to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held on a $51,000 bond. He is scheduled for a court appearance today.
