A Greeneville teen died in a two-vehicle wreck Thursday afternoon on West Andrew Johnson Highway at the Pruitt Road North intersection in the Mt. Pleasant area.
Two vehicles were involved in the 4:30 pm crash. The fatal victim, 19-year-old Blake R. McClellan died at the scene.
In his report, Greeneville Police Officer Jerry Goforth says a 1996 Ford Mustang driven by McClennan was attempting to cross through the median onto West Andrew Johnson Hwy from Pruitt Rd North when it failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by a 2002 Jeep Cherokee driven by Joshua H. Fincher. Fincher, the report indicates sustained on minor injuries.
No charges were filed in relation to the accident. McClellan was a 2024 graduate of South Greene High School.
In addition to Greeneville Police, Greeneville/Greene County EMS, the Greeneville Fire Department, Greene County Sheriff’s Department, Mosheim Police Department, and the Greeneville Emergency and Rescue Squad responded.

The wreck is the second fatal accident in Greene County, both on West Andrew Johnson Highway this week.
