A garage at 725 Old Snapps Ferry Road was destroyed by fire Monday morning.
The resident said he was working on a vehicle inside the garage when a fire suddenly started underneath and quickly engulfed the car. He tried to put it out with an extinguisher, but called 911 when that was unsuccessful. He then started moving vehicles away from the structure. The Tusculum, Limestone and Newmansville Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene.
The garage was reported to be a total loss. A 1988 Porsche was destroyed in the fire, along with three ATVs, two dirt bikes, and approximately $60,000 worth of tools in several large toolboxes. The contents lost in the fire were estimated at $99,000, with the garage valued at $100,000.
No injuries were reported.
