A Greeneville man is facing charges following a wreck last week on Jones Bridge Road.
24-year-old Bryson Woods was driving a Nissan Versa around 5:30 PM Friday. A woman in the vehicle with Woods reportedly called 911 screaming for help then hung up. When dispatchers called her back, the victim answered and continued to plead for help. Woods’ vehicle then crashed head-on into a Toyota minivan. After the crash, the victim could be heard saying, “He’s trying to kill me.”
A witness said the Nissan entered the inbound lane going around the curve at Jim Fox Road and was traveling at a high rate of speed. Woods reportedly got out of the vehicle after the collision in an attempt to get away, but could not due to his injuries. The victim was not able to move due to injuries sustained in the accident.
As Radio Greeneville news previously reported, Woods and the victim were both transported to the Johnson City Medical Center by helicopter. The driver of the minivan was released from the scene.
According to a report from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, Woods is facing charges of aggravated domestic assault and aggravated assault in connection with the wreck.
