Greene County Director of Schools Dr. Chris Malone says numerous school personnel stepped up to help their communities after the flooding from Hurricane Helene in September.
But Alisha Ricker he says, was the one coordinating those efforts, efforts she says are still ongoing as many still have yet to fully recover from their loses.
Ricker was presented the “Way To Go Award” for classified staff members of the school system Thursday, but she told Radio Greeneville News this award goes to everyone involved.
Ricker says area churches and communities have been very instrumental in the efforts as well.
