A man was extracted from his vehicle on Sunday after crashing at the intersection of East Andrew Johnson Highway and Industrial Road.
Officers responded to the accident at around 11:40 AM. Witnesses stated the man was driving in the right lane of travel when he appeared to be attempting to get on the shoulder. The vehicle reportedly continued past the shoulder and got stuck in a ditch. Witnesses stated that no other cars were struck in the process.
The father of the driver told the Greeneville Police Department his son should not have been driving because of medical issues. The driver, Doyle Ford, was reportedly extracted from the car and taken to the hospital for medical issues not related to the crash.
He suffered minor injuries and only had a cut on his right arm, according to the report. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
