A Greene County business owner reported Thursday fake checks have been written on his business account.
The owner of East TN Collision Repair on East Andrew Johnson Highway said the first check was written in November and the business was reimbursed by the bank. There have been a total of three checks written on the account, with the last one being cashed in Chattanooga. The last check was not approved by the bank and the business is not out any money. The bank requested the victim make a report for the incident.
The checks appeared to be designed with only the correct account information, as the checks do not have the correct design. One check had the wrong bank name, but the correct routing number.
