The giraffe born at Bright’s Zoo in Limestone who got national attention after being born without spots has passed away at the age of two.
Brights Zoo announced that Kipekee died Wednesday afternoon of unknown causes. A full necropsy will be performed.
Kipekee was born July 31st, 2023 and quickly became known as the rarest living giraffe in the United States.
Before her birth, the most recent giraffe reported born without a pattern took place in Tokyo in 1972. Another pattern less giraffe was born in Africa since the birth of Kipekee.
